Equity is a UK trade union for professional performers. It is a leading industry organisation that is known and respected nationally and internationally for the work carried out on behalf of its members working across all areas of the entertainment industry.  Equity has over 40,000 members form a cultural community that is of major importance to the UK in artistic, social and economic terms and it works to support them by negotiating their terms and conditions, including fee structures, with all kinds of employers and employer’s groups. Equity has a team of full-time staff across the UK who have a wealth of experience and expertise when it comes to advice and representation. They are able to deal with the issues raised by members working in all areas of the industry whether it be a major feature film, radio voice overs, a circus act or any other live or recorded work.

Equity branches around the country where members can come together to discuss issues of concern, network and attend events.  Being part of Equity gives members a voice and makes them at the heart of the union’s activities.  By getting involved the members drive forward the work of the union.

  • Joining fee £18.25, includes professional name reservation
  • Annual subscription £18.25 per year
  • When upgrading to an Adult/Full Equity membership, there is a deduction of £10 for each year of student membership, against the new adult/full membership. This is capped at a maximum rebate of £30.00
